Stage set for ‘Women Invigorating the Nation’

This week’s Women Invigorating then Nation (WIN) convention hosted by the Women Entrepreneurs Business Council, is expected to give delegates the chance to learn and network with women from across the micro to corporate level.

WEBC Chairperson, Eseta Nadakuitavuki says “women in Fiji can expect this Convention to be an esteemed annual event for women from all sectors of the community and this is only the beginning of many exciting learning opportunities for all Women in Fiji.”

The WIN Convention Committee Chairperson, Sharyne Fong, says after an opening event on Friday night, “the WIN Convention kicks off early at 8am on Saturday with Samira Cook Gaines as the Keynote Speaker.” Amongst Samira’s many achievements, she was the Founding Director of the Washington, DC Women’s Business Center, which supports women entrepreneurs through training, coaching, and mentoring. In honor of her work with small businesses, Samira was chosen as a White House Champion for Change in the area of entrepreneurship mentoring under the Obama Administration.

The WIN Convention will end with a Closing Dinner on Saturday with the First Lady Madam Filomena Katonivere as Guest of Honour.

The theme of the conference is “Pivoting Towards Prosperity.”
